Outreach Ministries International was started in 1983 in Stockton, CA by Pastors Dick and Edie Patterson. The initial location was located on Pacific Avenue where we opened a free coffee shop/drop-in center called ‘The Youth Connection’. The Youth Connection hosted Christian music concerts and outreach events followed by Sunday Bible studies and worship times. Pastor Dick and Edie spent many years discipling and teaching the young people that were coming through the doors as they were starting on a new life following Christ. Over time as the ministry developed, the congregation purchased a facility in Lodi in 1988. This church building needed extensive repair and renovation and the congregation fortunately had many tradesman to help with the needed work. Upon completion the new church was named Zion Christian Fellowship where it continued under the leadership of Pastor Dick and Edie until their retirement in 2009. At that time their grandson, Jason McEachron and his wife Schaunna, took over pastoring the congregation and began the transition period to what has now become Gravity Church. Gravity Church has become a constant source of outreach in the local community much like the early days of The Youth Connection 40 plus years prior.
